A Day in the Life of My Stomach
I mean, I still do, but I ate A LOT in high-school.
Not only did I snack constantly, I wasn't the most active teenager, so as you can imagine, I was a little overweight.
I have had many different relationships with food, but in college, my eating habits have changed so much.
I focused on eating lean meats, plenty of fruits and vegetables and keeping my snacking healthy and to a minimum. Pairing these habits with consistent exercise allowed lose 30 pounds of unnecessary weight, but more importantly, this process helped my body feel better and more energized throughout the day.
So what do I eat?
Here is a mock meal plan for a day.
Breakfast
- Cheerios
- Plain cheerios are a good source of fiber with low sugar. Paired with milk that is high in protein and you are ready to start your day!
- Throw some cut, fresh or frozen berries or other fruit into your cereal!
- Today, I had some frozen blackberries, so I added those.
- Side of fruit
- Whatever feels right! For me, it was a peach.
- Sprouts Capresse Sandwich
- Not too high in calories or fat and the Mozzarella offers some meat free protein to keep you satisfied.
- Not the healthiest thing on here, but as long as you keep it to a moderate amount, eating a few potato chips is a nice salty snack!
Dinner
- Chicken breast is a nice lean meat. Add some flavor by marinading in your favorite bbq sauce before grilling.
- Salad with carrots, cucumbers and feta.
- Salads are obviously a great way to pack in many different vegetables. Add oil and vinegar for a healthy dressing that adds a great fresh and acidic punch to your saldad.
- Grilled Zucchini
- Cut into bite sized pieces and tossed with oil. Seasoned with thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper and grilled until soft.
Hi! I love this! I am always looking for new things to try to eat! I love trying new products and recipes. That Sprouts sandwich that you had for lunch looks so yummy. I have seen these "What I Eat in A Day" lists done more as Youtube videos. I read enjoying seeing it done in a blog style not a Youtube video. Great job. From looking at your others posts. I love your variety!
