A To-Go Meal From Home

Whenever I go to work, I try to bring food with me.

Since I work at a grocery store, it's a little too easy to just buy some mac and cheese during my break and make that the norm.

As good as that sounds, that mac and cheese is extremely thick and eating it every day probably isn't the best idea for my health and my wallet.

So I figured I should start bringing more meals to work with me.

One of my favorite meals is teriyaki chicken, and it's one of the best as far as re-heating.

1. Dice up chicken breast.
My favorite teriyaki

2. Marinate the breast in teriyaki sauce.
finished cut veggies

3. Cut up the carrots and cucumbers.

4. Cook chicken in pan until fully cooked and teriyaki sauce is thick.

5. While the chicken is cooking, make the rice. (I use the 90 second microwave Basmati rice)

6. Combine everything into a Tupperware.
final product!

7. Reheat in the microwave for 1 minute when you want to eat and enjoy!

Not only is this meal delicious, it is healthy as well! Basmati rice is one of the healthiest grains one can consume. By intermixing your favorite veggies, you can personalize and spice your teriyaki bowl up!

This is one of my favorite parts of teriyaki bowls because the possibilities are endless! By trying different sauces and combinations, you might stumble upon your favorite bowl!

  2. I liked how you decided to create a step by step process on how to make this. It makes it seem very easy to read and even pretty easy to do yourself. This seems like such a fun recipe because you can add pretty much anything you want into it and make it your own.
