My Self-Care Routine
Self-care is something that has become extremely important to me.
Making sure I take proper care of myself has led to so many positive changes for health of my body, skin and mind.
While my entire self-care routine is not something I do everyday, most of these things should be done a few times a week to ensure proper maintenance, while some can be done less often.
1. Shampoo.
a. As someone with curly hair, shampooing is something I do only once a week or as needed.
2. Condition.
a. To combat my dry, frizzy curly hair, I must condition it every day.
3. Face wash.
a. Every day. If I can get it twice, I do, but at least once.
4. Body wash.
a. Every other day unless I get really dirty or sweaty. The only reason I don't do it every day is to give a break to my sensitive skin.
5. Exfoliate.
a. For me, exfoliating my neck weekly helps prevent and treat neck acne.
b. Because I have such dry feet, I have to exfoliate dead skin off my feet once a week as well.
6. Moisturize.
a. I have pretty dry skin, so I try to moisturize every day and as needed.
7. Add hair products.
a. To keep my hair looking defined and frizz free, I must add curl creme and gel every day.
Hello! Sounds like you have quite an extensive routine! I don't have curly hair, so I'm not sure what all goes into maintaining that look, but it sounds very different from my routine. Have you always followed this process to keep your curls looking good or was this something you've learned about recently?
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking! I didn't take very good care of my hair until college. I started to do more research at the end of high-school and have really just been trying to try as many products and learn as much about my hair as possible.
